Medlock told the Post: “I was just trying to talk it out as an adult.”
She said her teammate Karleigh Jones got mad when she refused to buy her a vape. Medlock says she went to Jones’s room to say sorry, but instead an argument took place.
She ended up with a $500 criminal citation and was removed from the cheer team over the July 21 incident.
“There was no questions asked. The coach didn’t even get my side of the story,” said Medlock, who is looking for a lawyer.
“They knew that I was trans, they knew that I was different from all the other girls. It wasn’t a big deal until her dad came up and made a scene,” she told KTAB/KRBC.
Medlock made Ranger College’s cheerleading team in April after being legally classified as a female in Texas and changing her name about a month earlier, according to the Post.
She posted footage to Facebook of what she called “video evidence” showing that she did not assault Jones while her teammate called her a “man” and said she had a penis.
“Her father is going around saying that I choked her out and made her pass out,” Medlock wrote in the post.
“I was just joking with Karleigh,” Medlock said on the clip. “I’ve never done anything mean to Karleigh.”
