A transgender former football coach in Australia is among those who made the cut in a men’s magazine’s list of 100 “hot” women.

Maxim Australia’s annual “Hot 100” celebrates the beauty of noteworthy Aussie women.

This year’s list was topped by actress Margot Robbie, an obvious choice given the success of Barbie.
But arguably the most noteworthy inclusion on the list of “fine and fierce femmes” is former Australian football player and coach Danielle “Dani” Laidley.
Editor-in-Chief Santi Pintado referred to the 100 as an “annual, eclectic and definitive list of Australian women who have impressed, made headlines or simply had a huge year.”
Pintado added: “The past 12 months saw an abundance of fine and fierce femmes who have wowed us with their aptitude, intellect, humour, attributes and overall incredible talents.”

Social media users were confused and maddened by Maxim’s decision.
“#92 of top 100 hottest ‘women’ in the world according to Maxim magazine in Australia,” women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines posted on X alongside photos of Laidley now and when she was previously known as biological male Dean.
“How did we get to a point where companies/institutions/publications can do this with no fear of backlash?”

Another user wrote: “Idk what’s worse. The fact that he made the list to begin with or the fact that he somehow got a better ranking this year compared to last year.”
Radio host Dana Loesch fumed: “Maxim doesn’t know what hot means or what a woman is,” while Townhall columnist Derek Hunter remarked, “The only shock here is Maxim still exists.”

Laidley’s inclusion was also controversial to those who recall the former coach’s criminal history.
Laidley pled guilty to stalking charges in 2020 after she was caught with meth.
