Orlando Pirates have reportedly submitted a bid for a top Iraqi defender in an attempt to replace those that left the club at the end of June.

According to IQ-Pro.net, the Buccaneers have set their sights on Mustafa Nazim, so much so that they have tabled an offer to him.
The publication reports that Nazim has other offers in front of him, and that he will take his time to assess them before making up his mind.

“The player has other local offers, and the students have begun official negotiations with him, but he will study the offers this week to give his final response.”

Pirates recently brought in two centre-backs in Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki while they parted ways with Thulani Hlatshwayo and Ntsikelelo Nyauza.
And the reports of them wanting to sign Nazim will definitely send tongues wagging given that the defender is unknown among the South African football fans.

Should Nazim end up at Pirates, it would be clear that newly-appointed coach Jose Riveiro had huge influence in signing him as the club previously never went in that part of the world to recruit players.
