SAN JOSE — A retailer that offers an array of travel-related items such as suitcases has picked San Jose’s Santana Row for its newest store as part of a fresh expansion effort.
Away is opening a store at 377 Santana Row, joining the destination mixed-use retail, restaurant, office, housing and hotel center.
The opening marks the first store that Away has opened since the onset of the coronavirus, the retailer said.
Away sells suitcases as well as other items since as travel bags, duffle bags, backpacks, duffle bags, packing organizers, toiletry bags, tech organizers and In-flight items such as clear pouches, travel blankets, face masks and sleep masks.
The retailer, on its website, also offers blogs about getaways. One recent web post provided suggestions on what to do during a day trip to the Silver Lake district of East Los Angeles.
Away’s new store extends the retailer’s expansion burst, which includes previous openings in San Francisco as well as the Los Angeles-area communities of West Hollywood and Venice Beach.
Santana Row has rebounded in the wake of the economic ailments unleashed by the coronavirus outbreak. The center says its foot traffic and visitor levels now top those its pre-COVID totals.
