A TRAVELLER has caused outrage after she filmed herself sneaking an animal onto a flight.

Tiktoker Jayden Parham bought a turtle on their trip to Florida, despite living in a different state.

Therefore she was forced to take the creature, who she named Swim Shady, on a plane ride.

She said: “I bought a baby turtle in Florida, but I live in Kentucky.

“I had to bring him home on the plane.”

Jayden puts the turtle in her bag and is seen getting through security.

She then shows herself sitting on the aircraft with Swim Shady in his box on her lap as she flies home.

Jayden then confirms: “We made it home safely”.

The American Transport Security Administration (TSA) shared the footage via their Instagram page, and confirmed that turtles were actually permitted on board flights in the US.

They also revealed how passengers should carry them should they need to take them anywhere.

They said: “Don’t be shell-shocked by this information.

“Your pet turtle and their half shells are fine by us, just be sure they’re in a clear, transparent container.

“However, don’t get yourself in a hare-y situation, be sure to ask your airline for their rules.

“You’ll find slow and steady always wins the race, so give yourself plenty of time to get through security.”

However, not everyone was quite as happy to see the animal on board the plane.

One user wrote: “Take this down. This is unfair for the animal.”

Another agreed, saying: “Poor guy probably just wants to be in nature.”

A third added: “That poor creature has been robbed of a natural life. Shame.”

Passengers were warned to check their luggage before returning from tropical countries this year to make sure they didn’t accidentally bring exotic animals home.
