Model Shanna Moakler attends beauty pageant

Shanna Moakler has had her fair share to say about ex Travis Barker’s relationship with his new wife Kourtney Kardashian.

The mother of his two kids – Landon, 18, and Alabama, 16 – has now announced she plans to rid herself of the engagement ring her former lover gave her.

Shanna, 47, dated the Blink-182 star, 46, between 2004 and 2008 and seemingly wants to distance herself for unnecessary sentimental items.

Speaking to US Weekly, the model said: “That chapter of my life is over and even though wearing it at one time brought me great joy, I hope it will find a new home and continue to bring someone as much happiness as it once did to me.”

It’s not the first time she’s tried to remove any memories of her relationship with the musician either, after laser removing her wrist tattoo last year which read “Travis”.

The silver accessory stunningly features a sparkly diamond band which surrounds a bold, circular stone.

The auction got underway on Friday and runs until Monday. She initially set a starting price of $51k and hopes that figure will rise to somewhere in the region of $120k.

It’s thought that the original value of the piece so $160k when the drummer first purchased it.

Speaking to People, the co-CEO of the site Shanna is hosting the auction on said he doesn’t know “specifically what Shanna is planning to do with the money,” but believes she will “use the proceeds to turn the reminders of the past into new opportunities”.

While the timing of the auction coincides with ex Travis’ marriage to the POOSH founder, Shanna says that it’s purely a coincidence.

Following the pair tying the knot, Shanna insisted her kids being involved in the ceremony was “a beautiful gesture”.

She went on to wish “the happy couple a lovely marriage”.

Shanna had also congratulated the pair following their Las Vegas wedding last month. In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, the blonde beauty said: “I wish them the best that life has to offer on their journey together.”

However, she hasn’t always been as amicable towards the pair.

In the early days of Travis and Kourtney’s relationship, Shanna seemingly hit out at the pair’s constant public displays of affection.

Writing in a now-deleted comment on social media, she said: “Unlike some people, my relationship status isn’t based on social media posting… I’m happy on life not on IG.”
