And that was all social media needed before the memes and comments spread like wildfire.

Former U.S. President Trump took to Truth Social to share the “good news.”
“‘The dumbest man on television,’ Don Lemon, has finally been fired from Fake News CNN. My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?”

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley managed to troll Lemon, trans women in sports and Bud Light all in one tweet, calling it “a great day for women everywhere,” before adding, “Now, let’s get men out of women’s sports.”
Her hashtag, #StillInMyPrime, refers to what may have started Lemon’s demise, when the former CNN This Morning host said the 51-year-old was past “her prime.”

She also added an image of two koozies – holding lemonade, not beer – and used the opportunity to promote her campaign.

Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue included Fox News and Tucker Carlson “severing bow ties” and that his exit “is more like an episode of Succession than last night’s episode of Succession,” as Carlson’s departure was reportedly decided by Fox Corp. boss Rupert Murdoch.

The Daily Show piled on both newsmen, first tweeting at Carlson that he “shouldn’t have apologized,” linking to a supercut of a fake apology for how his former network promoted lies about the 2020 presidential election.
Fox News agreed to a nearly $800-million settlement to avert a trial in Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit that would have likely exposed them.

The rest of Twitter lapped it up and shared its own thoughts of the ousters.
One post showed side-by-side photos of the two man with the logo for Wife Swap slapped on it, referring to the reality show that followed families as they traded spouses with another household.
A second post was a screenshot from The Simpsons in which Moe has just kicked Homer out of his bar, with the caption, “Live shot of Fox and CNN.”
Others used scenes from The Godfather, The Sopranos and Dumb and Dumber to merrily mock the former news hosts.
Lemon shared in a post on Twitter that he had been let go without being told directly by management, but CNN countered, calling his statement about the events “inaccurate.”
They added: “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
Carlson has not issued a statement, only Fox saying that he and the network “agreed to part ways.”
