Dana White announced Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor as TUF coaches.
UFC president Dana White announced the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 32 on Saturday morning. To the fans’ delight, it will be Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor cornering the contestants. The TUF season will premier on May 30 and run through Aug. 15.
With no date or setting confirmed, the two coaches will fight at the end of the season, per White.
McGregor’s comeback has been long-awaited since he broke his left tibia in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirer in the summer of 2021. What better way to parade his comeback than a season of TUF?
MMA fans woke up to the news on Feb. 4, and MMA Twitter was buzzing early about the match-up, McGregor returning, and how a fight between him and Chandler could go.

This will be McGregor’s second run as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter. In 2015, McGregor stood opposite Urijah Faber for season 22. The season was full of iconic moments, including McGregor predicting TJ Dillashaw leaving Team Alpha Male. His “snake in the grass” comments lead to a scuffle with Cody Garbrant, who back then was defending his now rival.
Chandler, while 2-3 in the UFC, has only fought the best of the lightweight division since entering the organization. He has called for the McGregor fight before, and now his wish has been granted. One of the most explosive fighters awaits the biggest star in his return. Expect the TUF season to be box office and the fight to be beautiful violence.
The Ultimate Fighter will air on Tuesdays starting in May and run through August. The show will be broadcast on both ESPN and EXPN+ for easy viewing.
