Mumbai Police is investigating the case of Tunisha Sharma’s suicide. ACP Chandrakant Jadhav who is investigating the case held a press conference yesterday and briefed the media about the case. He said that the police has arrested Sheezan Khan on the charges of abetment to suicide based on the complaint by Tunisha’s mother. He said that, “Tunisha and Sheezan worked together for a serial called Alibaba: Dastaan-e-Kabul that airs on Sony TV. During the shooting Tunisha and Sheezan became friends and later their friendship blossomed into love. 15 days ago, Sheezan broke up with Tunisha and this led Tunisha to commit suicide by hanging herself in the restroom. Based on Tunisha’s Mother’s complaint, we have registered a case against Sheezan in Waliv Police Station under section 306 of IPC. The accused was presented in the Vasai court today and the court has granted us 4 days custody of the accused.”
While answering questions of journalists, ACP Jadhav said, “From Autopsy it is clear that the cause of death is by hanging.” When asked whether she was pregnant, ACP Jadhav said the Autopsy showed no pregnancy. He also denied any angle of Love Jihad. He said, “Investigation so far has not revealed any angle of Love Jihad or Sheezan having an affair with another woman.”
