Twitter blasts Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, over rumoured romance with 19-year-old model

Even though a close source is denying there’s anything to the news, Leonardo DiCaprio is feeling the heat on social media for his alleged romance with 19-year-old model Eden Polani.

DiCaprio, who has been criticized in the past for dating younger women, was recently spotted sitting next to Polani at record launch party for Detroit singer Ebony Riley in Los Angeles.

As a photo of the pair quickly made the rounds, people reacted explosively to the possibility that the Oscar winner is dating someone who is six years younger than his breakout role in 1997’s Titanic.

“There’s a dog now who’s older than Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend. Let that sink in for a moment,” one critic swiped, referencing the world’s oldest dog, 30-year-old Bobi.

“I realized today that my 20-year-old cat is older than Leonardo DiCaprio’s current girlfriend,” chided another, with a third person snarkily adding, “If she doesn’t know who framed Roger Rabbit, she’s too young for you bro.”

But a source close to DiCaprio shot down any talk that he is dating the Israeli model telling TMZ that just because he was sitting next to Polani doesn’t mean they’re an item.

Last August, DiCaprio split with 25-year-old actress Camila Morrone after four years together.

In a 2019 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morrone opened up about how the “large age gap” between the couple wasn’t a big deal.

“There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date,” she said. “I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating. … I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation.”

After the two split, Twitter users lashed out at DiCaprio, accusing the Don’t Look Up star of being allegedly ageist.

“There’s no phenomenon on this planet more reliable than Leonardo DiCaprio breaking up with his girl by age 25,” one person sniped, while another jokingly added, “Maybe Leonardo DiCaprio hated 9/11 so much that he can’t even date women who remember it. Did that even occur to you?”

Since his breakup with Morrone, DiCaprio has been linked to a number of different women, including supermodel Gigi Hadid and 23-year-old actress Victoria Lamas.
