Alfredo and Jose Linares, and another brother who was not harmed in the accident, had just stopped in at Miss Donuts in Beverlywood, which was part of their weekly routine for the last two decades, before going to their landscaping job, said KTLA.

Their nephew, Sergio Linares, who has set up a GoFundMe page for funeral expenses, said his two uncles depended on each other.
“They weren’t married, they had no kids, they lived together, and they took care of each other,” Sergio told KABC-TV.
Sergio also told KTLA that his father, who owned the landscaping business with his now deceased siblings, was just “one step away from being part of that accident.”
“They loved what they did, they didn’t want to retire yet,” he told KABC-TV. “They should’ve been living their life.”

KTLA said the driver called 911 and cooperated and the brothers were declared dead at the scene by the L.A. Fire Department.
Police say the cause of the accident is still being investigated but drugs and alcohol are not a factor.
“Our family suffered a tragic loss,” Sergio wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Alfredo & Jose were kind at heart and were always willing to help anybody in any situation. This is a very hard time for our family as a big part was taken from us.”
As of Friday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised close to US$22,0000 of its US$50,000 goal.
