Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley show respect after rematch

Tyron Woodley has admitted he took the £9,000 Rolex watch gifted from Jake Paul to the jewellers to check if it had a tracking device inserted into it.

The former UFC welterweight champion was handed the expensive Christmas present during the face-off for their rematch which he took as a surprise despite their previous rivalry.

He was later brutally knocked out which ended their rivalry with Paul winning both ring showdowns.

Woodley has now admitted that he was taken off guard by the present and wasn’t sure if it was a joke ahead of their huge fight that took place at the end of the week.

“You know what that face-to-face was weird, I always expected a bit of warfare with him and I knew he was gonna do some dumb s***,” he said on The MMA Hour.

“Yeah, I have the watch, I took it to the jewellery store in Atlanta called Icebox where all these famous people go to. I took it in there not to see if it was real but I wanted to see if they put a little microphone or tracker in there or some s***.

“I took it in and it was all good. But they wanted to see if it was real because something came out that fight week that he had on a Richard Mille watch that was fake or something. The watch it was real yeah!”

During their fight week, Paul was told by an Instagram page notorious for exposing fake watches that his $520,000 Richard Mille watch was fake.

It came just days after Paul flaunted his luxuries by gifting himself with a ‘Most Valuable Boxer’ belt that featured diamond watches and a Hermes Birkin bag as side plates.

Woodley – who was criticised for losing twice to Paul – fired back at his fellow fighters by stating the novice boxer would f*** a lot of them up.

And ‘The Chosen One’ admitted his fight with Paul was the most fun he’s had during his 13-year fighting career.

“To be honest, fighting Jake was fun to me, training for Jake was fun to me, the press conference s*** was fun to me,” he continued.

“It was the best experience I’ve ever had in any fight, I swear to you. The Showtime s*** the promotion s***, the back and forth stuff.

“Feeling like I was getting paid what I was worth was f***ing amazing and endorsement wise I went crazy. I just put myself and my family in a different position.

“Though I didn’t come out on top I still learned so much and I still got so much to learn.”
