Tyron Woodley planning Jake Paul trilogy in 2022

Tyron Woodley’s “I love Jake Paul” tattoo appears to have faded to nothing just days out from the pair’s grudge rematch.

Woodley was obligated to get the humiliating ink after losing to Paul in their August fight, having agreed that the loser would receive a tattoo declaring their ‘love’ for the other.

And after a tight split-decision, Woodley opted to get inked, particularly after Paul sweetened the deal by agreeing to a rematch if he completed the bet.

But the YouTube star instead opted to fight Tommy Fury, with Woodley only being offered the rematch on two weeks’ notice when the Brit pulled out with an injury.

And Woodley showed off the remnants of the faded ink at an open workout in Florida today after sealing the short notice second bout.

“I purposely did it to troll the troll,” Woodley explained after showing that his inner middle finger tattoo had almost completely disappeared.

“Anybody who has a tattoo on the inside of their hand, or a tattoo artist knows it fades.

“I got it on the finger that means the opposite of love, I put it on that finger but I knew it was going to wear down.

“Taking showers, washing your hands, boxing, battle ropes, turf – I didn’t want to walk around with his name on me for the rest of my life.

“I agreed not to have it removed, I agreed to have it permanent, but I never felt I lost the fight anyway, so I wasn’t super psyched about getting it.

“It wasn’t something I mapped out and had all this work into it.”

The ex-UFC champion had shown off the tattoo during a chat with Mirror Fighting last week.

But as he was being interviewed on the Showtime Boxing open workout broadcast it appeared to have completely disappeared.

Woodley was on set for a television show when he received the news that Fury had pulled out of his fight with Paul, and immediately accepted the short notice fight for Saturday night.

The pair shared a heated rivalry in the build-up to their first meeting, and there is likely to be a stoppage in this bout due to an added bonus offered to Woodley by Paul.

The YouTube star is a co-promoter of the bout, and as such has the power to insert clauses into the contract, one of which is a $500,000 bonus should Woodley knock him out.

There was a conspiracy theory circulated that Paul had made sure Woodley had a “no knockout” clause in his contract for the first fight, which has been debunked.

But he has insisted on adding the new stipulation to the contract in an effort to “leave no doubt” after the pair’s split decision in August.

The pair took part in open workouts on Wednesday evening in Florida, and will go head-to-head for the first time since the fight at a press conference on Thursday.
