Tyson Fury teases ‘some big news coming’

Tyson Fury has poked fun at his own physique in a tweet mocking Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury has an unremarkable physique while Klitschko and Wilder sport shredded abs, but that didn’t stop the Brit beating both men when they fought for the world title.

Fury’s original crowning moment was a win over Klitschko in 2015 for the unified world heavyweight titles in Duesseldorf, the Ukrainian’s first loss in over a decade.

They were set to do battle at the Manchester Arena in a rematch the following summer, but Fury pulled out with an injury, and ultimately ended up leaving the sport for the better part of three years.

When he returned, he took on two warm-up fights before heading straight into a world title bout against the unbeaten Wilder, who he outboxed over 12 rounds to earn a draw that many felt he had won.

But when they rematched in 2020, Fury didn’t allow the judges to make any mistakes and brutalised his rival over seven rounds before the towel was thrown in.

They had one more fight last October, which was a back-and-forth brawl that saw both men dropped twice before Fury landed a knockout blow in the 11th round to finish the feud as world champion.

And he has joked in a recent meme that comparing photos of the three from weigh-ins would leave a casual fan confused that someone who looks like him is the champion.

“Explaining the current heavyweight division to non-boxing people is a real treat,” the tweet reads, accompanied by a side-by-side of the trio.

“‘So yeah, the guy in the middle beat the other two and uh… um…'”

During his time away from boxing from 2016-2018, Fury was stripped of his world titles and struggled with mental health and substance abuse.

He has said that he attempted suicide at the depths of his depression, and at one point had ballooned to as heavy as 30-stone, or 420lbs.

Fury has rekindled his rivalry with Klitschko in recent days – over half-a-decade after their meeting.

The Ukrainian jumped in to defend his countryman Oleksandr Usyk from an accusation the Brit made of him using steroids.

Usyk, who holds the belts that Fury was forced to relinquish, has never failed a drug test, but was accused by Fury of being a “steroid man” in a video on social media, which Klitschko retaliated to in a post of his own.

” Tyson Fury you live in a glass house, and someone needs to take away your stones,” Klitschko tweeted.

“Wasn’t long ago before our fight where you actually tested positive. Anyone can Google it. Keep it classy!!! #usykchampion #ukraine #hypocrite.”

Fury replied with a video showing off his belt display in his Morecambe home while saying: “Wladimir you’ve got some cheek to come back after all these years and open your big mouth.

“You never landed a punch; I took all your belts off you. These used to belong to you, now they belong to me you useless dosser… keep on dreaming.”
