Tyson Fury furious with taxi after being refused ride

Tyson Fury and his dad John didn’t take long to recover from their heavy night on the beer as they hit the town for a fancy dinner in South France on Thursday evening.

The world heavyweight champion admitted that he had a few “too many” strong drinks last night after video emerged of him kicking out at a taxi that wouldn’t pick up he and his father. He was spotted being led to a taxi by his dad and his entourage before the trying unsuccessfully to open the back door.

In video footage of the incident that was shared across social media, two men can be seen speaking to the driver through both front windows before he begins to drive off with his passenger door still open. Fury then kicks out at the back of the Renault as the video, filmed by a passer-by, ends.

But the controversy surrounding the video didn’t stop the Furys from continuing to enjoy their celebratory holiday after the Brit’s latest heavyweight title defence. He and dad John shared a meal with his wife Paris on the Avenue Jean Médecin in Nice.

He posted a video with his dad to Instagram, in which he said: “It’s that time of the night dad, tea time, food time!” John then added: “Let’s do it proper”. Fury later shared a video with his wife Paris from their meal.

The family are celebrating their final night on holiday this evening before heading back to the United Kingdom. Once their trip is over, Fury will have to decide whether or not he is serious about his boxing retirement before the WBC opts to make a vacant title fight later in the year.

“It’s our final night here, the luxury’s over,” the Furys can be seen saying in another Instagram video posted this evening. “It’s been a blast – we’ve had plenty of training, plenty of drinking, plenty of food and plenty of good times.”

Fury has been the WBC heavyweight champion since he dethroned Deontay Wilder with a vicious knockout in their 2020 rematch. The governing body have said they will give him a solid amount of time to make a final decision, with President Mauricio Sulaiman insisting he will not rush his champion as no mandatory defence is due for 12 months.

” Tyson Fury confirmed how great he is inside the ring and outside the ring, he is also a hero,” he told Planet Sport. “We’re going to give him the time he needs to reflect, to relax, he just did the mandatory of the division. There’s no hurry to pressure him or his team into making any decisions.

“We will be in communications, he’s having holiday with his family. I’m not saying we will get him three months, there’s no time limit right now, I’m respecting the level of Tyson Fury, his private time with his family, but we will talk in the near future certainly. We need to address the situation if he is retiring but at this time, we are just giving him the much deserved time to enjoy his holidays.”

Fury and his family have been staying on a luxury yacht that costs £18,000 a night as they continue to celebrate his knockout win over Dillian Whyte. The luxury vessel, which costs £42million, has a jacuzzi on board and comes equipped with jet skis.
