Eddie Hearn discusses Anthony Joshua stepping aside for Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury has offered a scouting report on his three heavyweight rivals branding Anthony Joshua a “useless bum” while praising Oleksandr Usyk in comparison.

The ‘Gypsy King’ has been embroiled in a series of negotiations with three heavyweight rivals Dillian Whyte, Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua.

Fury will now face Whyte in a mandatory defence of his title after talks of an undisputed clash with Usyk collapsed despite Joshua discussing an offer worth £15 million to step-aside from his rematch with Usyk.

He has now offered an assessment on his heavyweight rivals claiming that Usyk is a “good boxer” and looks like “Muhammad Ali” in comparison to his former foe Joshua.

“I think Joshua is a useless old dosser,” Fury told Max Kellerman. “He robbed Cuba blind at the Olympics blind so shouldn’t have even got a medal.

“As soon as he stepped up he got chinned, then he went to America where the real fighters are and got obliterated by a fat kid on two weeks notice.

“So do I think he is a great fighter? Hell no. I think he is a useless bum. Then he fought a boxer half his size and a foot shorter than him and got outboxed.

“If you think going into a boxing fight for the world heavyweight title is not trying to win, yeah I would give him that title.

“For me he is a useless old bum and he won’t get past Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight and his career is over. However I think Usyk is a good boxer, a very talented cruiserweight boxer but I think he is no great shake and is hittable.

“I just think he is small and not fast, he is okay and a decent boxer he looks like Muhammad Ali compared to stiff-ass there.”

Joshua lost his unified titles to Usyk which ended his chances of setting up an undisputed clash against Fury later in the year after their previous £100 million meeting collapsed.

However it now looks as if he will face Whyte after his promoter Frank Warren won purse bids with a bumper £31 million offer to stage the fight in the UK.

Whyte has largely remained silent about the potential fight as he waits for an official contract, despite Fury’s goading on social media.

Eddie Hearn has explained that Whyte has refused to get involved with trash-talking and still “doesn’t believe” Fury will take the fight.

However Fury plans to chop Whyte down “like a tree” and offered a brutal assessment about his next rival.

“I just think he is an average looking heavyweight,” Fury continued. “6 feet three inches, 245 pounds, slow feet, slow hands and average power.

“Talk about tailor-made for a gifted boxer like myself, I should chop him down like a big old tree like cutting through cheese really.”
