Tyson Fury says an announcement is imminent for ‘an absolutely monstrous’ fight.

‘The Gypsy King’ has kept a relatively low profile since his undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk fell through at the end of March.

The WBC champion and IBF, WBO and WBA king Usyk were set to collide on 29 April at Wembley Stadium only for the deal to fall through at the eleventh hour over a disagreement relating to the rematch clause.

Usyk is now likely to defend his titles against WBA mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois this summer.

Fury now claims his return to the ring is on the brink of being confirmed.

‘I’ve got some massive, massive news coming,’ Fury said in a clip shared on social media channels on Thursday.

‘An imminent fight date, an absolutely monstrous fight. Keep tuned because the WBC heavyweight king is back in action, coming very, very soon.’

Joe Joyce was one name in the frame to fight Fury this summer but the Olympian last week suffered a shock defeat to Zhilei Zhang with the Chinese heavyweight stopping the Londoner in the sixth round.

Zhang called out Fury in the aftermath with reports suggesting a title fight in China will be discussed. Former world champion Andy Ruiz Jr has been another name put forward.

Rumours of a spectacular night of heavyweight boxing in Saudi Arabia have continued to build with plans for Fury and Usyk to finally meet with Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder also colliding on the same card in December.

Wilder has welcomed talk of the fight with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirming he plans to hold talks with Saudi officials next week.

Fury however moved to dismiss the rumours last week. He wrote on Instagram: ‘I can confirm that these rumours are absolute BS!’

Fury last fought in December, stopping old rival Derek Chisora in their fight having knocked out Dillian Whyte earlier in the year at Wembley.
