Proposals have currently stalled with the pair at odds over the date of the bout, with Fury offering Joshua November 5 at Old Trafford, November 26 at Wembley, or December 3 in Cardiff. However, promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed his challenger favours a clash on December 17, presumably at The Principality Stadium given the venue can utilise a roof.
Now ‘The Gypsy King’ has issued a ‘take it or leave it’ ultimatum over the early December date, but only after appearing on talkSPORT to mock Bellew’s views. The Scouse star had previously told the station: “He’s come off the back of two defeats [Joshua] and yet a champion is calling you out. AJ is the biggest draw in the heavyweight division. I’m sorry to say it guys. It doesn’t matter if he’s lost twice or not – he’s still the biggest draw.”

British boxing fans would undoubtedly laud a Fury v Joshua fight finally being confirmed, with the rivalry having festered for years. The pair were set to do battle in Saudi Arabia in 2021, before Wilder’s legal team intervened over a contractual clause which left Fury obliged to face the American first.
Joshua’s second defeat to Usyk scuppered the prospect of a unification bout between the two. But the Ukrainian then revealed he wouldn’t face Fury before 2023, which has seemingly opened the door for Joshua to have a shot at becoming a world champion again.
