Tyson Fury ‘s trainer SugarHill Steward is open to teaching Justin Bieber how to box but would advise the singer not to spar ‘The Gypsy King’.

Pop star Bieber has been training boxing recently to prepare for a film about Ukrainian fighter Dmitry Salita. Screenwriter Gregory Allen Howard has praised Bieber’s abilities in the ring and backed him to follow Jake Paul into the professional world.

Bieber has never fought at any level, but did previously call out film star Tom Cruise to a UFC fight. Steward said his late uncle Emanuel once taught Eminem how to box and he would “definitely” be willing to do the same for Bieber.

“I would definitely have Justin Bieber in camp because Emanuel [Steward] was teaching Eminem so it’s no different. I like to teach and it doesn’t matter who I teach at this point. I just like teaching, I enjoy it,” Steward told Betway.

“I would be very open to not only teaching Justin Bieber how to box but teaching him how to knock guys out. I think he’d get on well [in the gym]. He’s a successful entertainer so he’s worked hard to get to this point. So being in camp would not be anything less than he’s been doing his whole life. In my training camp we also have fun. It’s a family-oriented gym.

“I don’t know about Tyson Fury but I’ve got some other world champions Bieber can get in there with. Definitely, Bieber can learn something from being in the ring and sparring with champions.”

Fury partnered with Steward after his nervy 2019 win against Otto Wallin. Since then, the trainer has guided Fury to two knockout wins over Deontay Wilder and most recently a one-sided stoppage win against Dillian Whyte.

The undefeated Brit announced his retirement after beating Whyte, despite an undisputed fight with either Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua on the table. Steward said several big fights falling through during Fury’s career played a part in his decision to retire.

Steward said that Bieber would be able to develop his boxing skills a lot by training with world champions. The legendary trainer added: “That’s something we’ve always done growing up.

“We’ve had world champions boxing with pure novices, doesn’t matter. It’s not about beating them up, it’s about teaching them and at the same time the champion can work on something himself.”
