MANILA, Philippines—After helping Far Eastern University-Diliman get its fourth UAAP boys’ basketball crown, Janrey Pasaol has committed to try and do the same for the Tamaraws in the seniors’ division.

The 5-foot-11 guard cited gratitude as one of the reasons for his extended stay at FEU, saying he owes a lot to the institution.

“I chose to stay in FEU because my gratitude for this place is too much because of the big help they gave me, not just in basketball but also in life,” Pasaol said in Filipino.

“I’m also thankful because this is the school that others dream of but it’s me who was given that chance to play and study here.”

The Season 85 mythical five member posted averafe of 15.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 steals per outing for the champions Baby Tamaraws.

Alvin Pasaol’s younger brother will be called upon to try and give the Tamaraws a return in the Final Four after having missed it in Season 85.

Since he played in the juniors’ division, Pasaol has the green light to play right away for FEU under new coach Denok Miranda.

Miranda knows the value of the young star’s arrival to the Tamaraws.

“He can help the team, especially since he already knows my system,” the newly-minted coach said.

Pasaol will be playing alongside holdovers LJay Gonzales, Patrick Sleat and Bryan Sajonia.
