ABU DHABI, Dec 7: The UAE Government has set number of work days per week for public civil servants at four and a half, effective early January. Oficial UAE news agency, WAM, citing a government statement on Tuesday, said the decision would be applied on public sectors, adding that the work hours per day would begin at 7:30 a.m. and end by 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays, the work hours would be four and 30 minutes from 7:30 a.m. until 12 noon time, WAM said, adding that the work hours at public schools would be declared later. Moreover, the government decision set time for the Friday Prayers at 1:15 p.m., fixed throughout the year.
The official statement said the new work hours’ system would bolster the UAE status on the global business map and strengthen link-up of the national economy with foreign economies and markets. Moreover, the new local work hours will be in harmony with those at international bourses and financial markets as well as major banks
