Sean O’Malley is focusing on what he can control ahead of his UFC 269 bout with Raulian Paiva Saturday night from Las Vegas, NV.
Sean O’Malley will once again open up a UFC pay-per-view main card from Las Vegas, NV to close out the UFC’s numbered events schedule at UFC 269. O’Malley, who is better known as “The ‘Suga’ Show,” will be taking on Raulian Paiva with the goal of increasing his winning streak to three-straight in 2021.
At 14-1, O’Malley is coming in with a focused mindset and is willing to take on all challengers that the UFC puts in front of him, regardless of where they might sit within the rankings. He elaborated on the notion that he has developed so-called “haters” during his pre-fight media scrum ahead of Saturday night’s mega pay-per-view extravaganza.
“I don’t necessarily enjoy having haters but I don’t get sad that I have haters. They’re gonna watch the fight 100 percent. Someone’s not gonna be watching the fights, then I come on the TV and they’re like ‘nope, not gonna watch.’ Like, that’s not gonna happen. They’re gonna watch. They’re gonna make sure they watch. They’re gonna call off work so they can watch. So, I’m not really worried about the haters.”
Sean O’Malley made a name for himself on DWCS
O’Malley was signed to the UFC during the inaugural season of DWCS and hasn’t looked back since. Despite a long layoff due to a suspension from the athletic commission that kept him out of the Octagon in 2019, he has continued to deliver epic performances that leave fans wanting more.
