UFC 270: Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane live results and highlights.

Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane are undoubtedly two of the best current, if not the very two best, heavyweights in the UFC currently. But at UFC 270, when they face off, only one can walk away from the Octagon as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and the title of “baddest man on the planet.”

Ngannou won the heavyweight title in his last bout, which came in a rematch against Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 last March. Ngannou knocked Miocic out in the second round, giving “The Predator” UFC gold at last. It was Ngannou’s fifth straight win and the first time he went past the first round in a victory since 2016.

Ngannou and the UFC couldn’t agree on a date for his first title defense. And so, the UFC booked Derrick Lewis and Gane in an interim title fight at UFC 265 in August. Gane finished Lewis late in the third round to score the interim gold. After winning the TKO heavyweight title in his first pro-MMA fight, and two title defenses, Gane is now 7-0 in the UFC, quickly rising up the ranks with additional victories over Junior dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov.

UFC 270 will also feature a highly anticipated trilogy flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo. The two first faced off at UFC 256, with both coming in on just a month’s notice, and delivering an instant classic. Thanks to a one-point deduction for then-champion Figueiredo, the battle ended in a majority draw. Moreno scored revenge and the 125-pound UFC title in a rematch at UFC 263 in June, submitting Moreno with a rear-naked choke in the third.
