UFC heavyweight veteran Aleksei Oleinik took some time to show his UFC 273 opponent, Jared Vanderaa, how he submitted him just minutes before.
Oleinik earned a come-from-behind win over Vanderaa on the UFC 273 early prelims. After getting into some early trouble on the ground and feet, Oleinik got Vanderaa’s back and submitted him with a neck crank.
Despite suffering from the jaws of defeat, Vanderaa asked Oleinik to show him his neck crank technique and Oleinik obliged.
Oleinik has been in the UFC since 2014, while Vanderaa is still new to the UFC heavyweight division after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020.
Jared Vanderaa took his loss to Aleksei Oleinik as a teaching moment
Oleinik signed with the UFC in 2014 and has picked up wins over the likes of Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, and Travis Browne during his tenure with the promotion.
With the win, Oleinik snaps a three-fight losing streak and appears to still be in peak physical condition at 44 years old.
