The fighters touched gloves to get the action underway. Garry opened with a knee. Green was aggressive coming forward but did not have much success landing his punches. Green landed a superman punch but Garry came back and landed a pair of punches. Green landed a good body shot. Garry came back and landed a powerful shot that opened up a tiny cut under Green’s eye. Garry landed a pair of quick jabs. Garry closed the round with a lightning-fast combination.
Green again opened the round pushing the action by coming forward and attacking. An accidental eye poke from Garry briefly stopped the action. Garry landed a head kick and then tied Green up in the clinch. The fight moved to the ground with Garry getting full mount and then transitioning to the back. Green was able to escape, get back to his feet and slam Garry back to the ground. Garry got back to his feet and landed a knee up the middle and followed with a jab. Green continued to push the action and back Garry up against the cage. Garry was able to fight his way off the fence but Green was able to cut off Garry and land a big shot at the end of the round.
In the opening seconds of the third round, Garry dropped Green with a powerful shot. Green was able to get back to his feet. Green briefly got Garry to the ground following a trip. Garry broke the clinch and landed a knee and follow it up with a combination. Green continued to be aggressive and push forward. Green landed a couple of low calf kicks. Garry landed a combination and followed up with an uppercut. Green continued to show no quit and pushed forward, landing another leg kick.
Garry entered UFC 276 as one of the hyped prospects to come out of Ireland since Concor McGregor. In his UFC debut, Garry knocked out Jordan Williams in the first round of their UFC 268. At UFC 273, Garry defeated Darian Weeks. With his victory, Garry improved to 10-0.
After losing his UFC debut, Green rounded with two straight wins. In his last fight, Green knocked out Yohan Lainesse. Despite losing tonight, Green’s style of fighting will earn him respect with the UFC executives.
