UFC 278: Kamaru Usman vs. Leon Edwards live results
Over six years after their first encounter, with neither man having tasted defeat since, Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards are set to do battle once again — this time with the UFC welterweight championship on the line in the main event of UFC 278.
When the two first met at a UFC Fight Night event in December 2015, it was Usman coming out on top in what was his first fight since winning season 21 of The Ultimate Fighter.
Since then, Usman has continued to win. In fact, he’s undefeated in the UFC and hasn’t dropped a professional MMA fight since losing his second one in 2013.
Usman claimed the UFC welterweight title from Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 and has since defended it twice against Colby Covington, twice against Jorge Masvidal and once against Gilbert Burns.
Edwards’s loss to Usman marks his most recent loss in the Octagon entering tonight. He has since won nine of ten, which includes victories over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos and (most recently) Nate Diaz. His one non-victory in that time was a bout with Belal Muhammad that ended in a no-contest.
