Paddy Pimblett held nothing back to express the bad blood between him and Jordan Leavitt prior to their bout at UFC London
Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall might be the headliners for the UFC London card on July 23, but if pre-match hype is anything to go by, you’d think it’d be the fight between Paddy Pimblett and Jordan Leavitt.
The two have taken shots at one another, ranging from the level of competition each has faced to vulgar, explicit acts promised to do to the other inside the Octagon.
The barbs continued at UFC London media day, with Pimblett freely expressing just how much hatred there is between the two.
“I didn’t mind him before the fight got announced,” Pimblett said. “He’s been saying all sorts of crazy s***, lad. He’s absolute c***; can’t throw a punch to save his life. He’s trying to talk s***; it’s mad. He’s talking about my opponents? My nan’s dead, and she’d finish him.”
Prior to their UFC London bout, Paddy Pimblett says Jordan Leavitt ‘can’t throw a punch to save his life’
It’s no secret the UFC’s hype machine is fully behind Pimblett and he’s touted as one of, if not the next big UFC superstar to come out of Europe. A former Cage Warriors featherweight world champion, Pimblett made his UFC debut in September 2021 with a comeback, first-round finish of Luigi Vendramini, earning a performance bonus.
He followed that up with a first-round submission of Rodrigo Vargas and another bonus.
By comparison, Leavitt’s lone performance bonus thus far came in his UFC debut, knocking out Matt Wiman with a slam in just over 20 seconds. Leavitt then dropped a decision to Claudio Puelles before wins over Matt Sayles and Trey Ogden.
Leavitt has promised he’s going to twerk on Pimblett after finishing him, but Pimblett has his own plans to go through Leavitt — before adding insult to injury.
“I’m going to t**-**g him like it’s Modern Warfare 2. I’m going to squat as close to his head as I possibly can without the ref yelling at me.
“He can talk all the s*** all he wants. But he knows full well when that cage door gets shut, I’m going to come out and take his head home with me.”
