After a few early shots, Leavitt shot in for a takedown attempt, getting it briefly before Pimblett got right back to the feet. Pimblett scared Leavitt with a couple of guillotine attempts, but Leavitt escaped both times.

Leavitt then was able to control Pimblett with his grappling until there were just over 30 seconds left, when Pimblett got a hold of him and ended the round in top control with some ground-and-pound.

After some more grapple battling early in the second round, Pimblett threatened with a standing head-and-arm before bringing Leavitt to the canvas with a knee to the head. Pimblett was then able to take advantage of the stunned Leavitt and finished him with a choke.

Pimblett, the former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, is now 3-0 in the UFC.

In his post-fight interview, Pimblett dedicated his victory to a friend who had killed himself this week and encouraged men to not bottle their problems.

He also indicated he plans to have one more fight before the end of 2022.
