Light heavyweight Da-Un Jung uses nasty elbows to get a first-round finish over Kennedy Nzechukwu at UFC Vegas 42.

It didn’t take long for UFC light heavyweight Da-Un Jung to impose his will on Kennedy Nzechukwu and earn a first-round finish to kick off UFC Vegas 42.

Jung and Nzechukwu entered the bout as hot prospects in the UFC’s light heavyweight division, but it was Jung who stole the show. After the two combatants traded singular shots for the first couple minutes of the fight, Jung found his range with some nasty hooking elbows that stumbled Nzechukwu.

Jung forced Nzechukwu to his back foot and poured it on with some heavy combinations to secure the win.

Da-Un Jung’s knockout over Kennedy Nzechukwu was his 13th straight win

Jung has now won four straight fights since joining the UFC in 2019. Before signing with the promotion, he earned a series of dominant performances in smaller promotions overseas such as Heat and Art of War.

Following a controversial split-draw against Sam Alvey at UFC 254, Jung rebounded nicely with a lopsided win over William Knight at UFC Vegas 23.

Nzechukwu came into UFC Vegas 42 with plenty of momentum as well. He was on a three-fight winning streak which included comeback wins over Danilo Marques and Carlos Ulberg in 2021.

With the win over Nzechukwu, Jung has the opportunity to make plenty of noise in the light heavyweight division. The UFC is always looking for solid 205-pound prospects, and Jung could be a bright spot and earn a spot in the rankings sooner rather than later.
