Jailton Almeida looks to continue recent success under the bright lights in the Octagon.
UFC Vegas 47 features a big middleweight main event between Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland. While these two battle with future title contender implications on the line, there are several names making their official promotional debut. Jailton Almeida is one of those individuals as he steps into the Octagon to take on Danilo Marques.
Almeida recently picked up a win on the Dana White Contender Series. He defeated Nasrudin Nasrudinov via second-round submission back on September 14.
Before stepping into the Contender Series, Almeida built his 14-2 professional record fighting for many organizations across the regional circuit. His record may not contain any names that fans of MMA at this level will recognize, but Almeida has remained regularly active in his career, fighting multiple times a year since 2016. The biggest win on his record is over former UFC-Veteran, Ildemar Alcantara back in 2020 at Thunder Fight 23.
Almeida is riding a nine-fight win streak that dates to 2018.
Danilo Marques wants to rebuild his momentum coming off a defeat.
Marques is looking to rebound from a loss to Kennedy Nzechukwu in June. He first joined the UFC in 2020 and has gone 2-1 in the promotion since. That run includes wins against Mike Rodriguez and Khadis Ibragimov. Marques’s professional career began back in 2014 and he brings an 11-3 professional record into this fight.
