Cory McKenna stamps her place in UFC history with her submission of Miranda Granger during the UFC Vegas 59 prelims
After an awkward submission ending to the first bout on the UFC Vegas 59 prelims, we got a clear ending in the second bout — as well as some UFC history.
McKenna scored a second-round submission of Miranda Granger, earning her win with the Von Flue choke. As a result, McKenna has become the first woman in UFC history to win with such a choke.

McKenna got around a 10-inch reach disadvantage by focusing on taking Granger down during the fight.
She did just that in the second round in spite of Granger’s arm around her neck. It was there on ground where McKenna won the transition battles and managed to lock Granger’s arms and pressure with her shoulder, forcing McKenna to tap with her feet.
