At UFC Vegas 63, Chase Hooper looks to improve his record to 12-2-1 and looks to win his second fight in a row.
On Saturday, UFC Vegas 63 will be taking place live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. The show will be headlined by a featherweight bout between Calvin Kattar, and Arnold Allen. Also slated for the card we will see Tim Means take on Max Griffin in a welterweight bout and more. However, on the prelims show, we will see Chase Hooper take on Steve Garcia in a featherweight bout.
This could be one of the more underrated fights on the prelim show because it features one of the great, young, up-and-coming talents in the UFC, Chase Hooper. While neither man is ranked, a win, improving Hooper’s record to 12-2-1 could put him on UFC’s radar even more. Hooper last fought in May of 2022 where he TKO’d Felipe Colares. This fight earned Hooper the performance of the night award for the show.
A lot of Hooper’s skills stem from his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background. However, not only is he an excellent mat wrestler, but he can also win from his striking game, just as much. Out of his 11 wins in the UFC already, five came from submission, four came by knockout, and two were won by unanimous decision.
Hooper looks to extend his win streak to two, as he squares off with Garcia
Coming into this fight, Hooper looks to win his second fight in a row as he takes on Garcia. In his last five fights, Hooper has won three and lost two. His only two losses have come off of decisions as he has yet to be knocked out or submitted in the UFC.
Although he is currently unranked, Hooper who is only 23 years old is on the UFC’s radar. He is a young, up-and-coming fighter who could further solidify himself in the UFC as he keeps racking up wins. While this continues to happen, Hooper could potentially find himself on the UFC ranking system sooner, rather than later.
