The UFC APEX will host its second consecutive UFC fight night on Saturday, Feb. 25 with UFC Vegas 70, where a pair of surging light heavyweight contenders meet inside the Octagon. No. 6 ranked Nikita Krylov (29-9) will take on No. 8 ranked Ryan Spann (21-7) in a bout that could catapult the winner into the top five of the rankings and a potential No. 1 contender’s fight. Both men come into this fight with a two-fight winning streak and will give it their all to keep their momentum going given their up-and-down UFC careers. A win here would bring either fighter closer to that elusive title shot in a weight class that has finally found some stability with new champion Jamahal Hill.
Although most fans are seemingly overlooking this bout in favor of the return of Jon Jones next weekend, don’t be surprised to see either Krylov or Spann win in emphatic fashion given their history of finishing fights on the feet or the ground. With the winner all but guaranteed a place in the top 5, whoever emerges victorious will truly cement themselves within the 205-pound title picture.
The co-main event pits two middleweight competitors aiming to cement their place in the rankings as No. 11 Andre Muniz (23-4) will look to climb into the top 10 with a win over an opponent looking to crack the top 15 in Brendan Allen (20-5).
