Ukraine diplomat drops the F-bomb on Elon Musk

Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Melnyk told Elon Musk to “F–k off” after the Tesla CEO went on Twitter with his unsolicited proposal that Ukraine end its war with Russia by adopting a position of neutrality toward the country that attacked it.

On Monday, Musk offered a series of scenarios, which he thought would help bring peace to Eastern Europe, including the proposal that Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, be formally recognized as part of that country.

“This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end — just a question of how many die before then,” Musk added.

The world’s richest man argued that Russia’s population is far bigger that that of Ukraine and ending the bloody conflict that began with Russian Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion in February would save Ukrainian lives.

“F–k off is my very diplomatic reply to you @ElonMusk,” Melnyk replied.

After Musk posted a poll online asking his followers on Twitter what they think Ukraine should do, the embattled country’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a poll of his own.

“Which @elonmusk do you like more?” his poll asked, giving the choice of a man who supports Russia or one that supports Ukraine.

The pushback against Musk on Twitter was forceful, with many social media users taking potshots at Musk’s electric automobile company. When Musk argued Crimea once belonged to Russia, one member of parliament in Poland, where many Ukrainian refugees have fled, noted most cars once belonged to the Ford Motor Company.

“I propose that Tesla belongs to Ford from now on,” he suggested.
