UNC basketball fan invades Cameron Indoor to troll the hell out of Duke, Coach K

A UNC Tar Heels fan made the short trip down Tobacco Road to Cameron Indoor Stadium, and trolled Duke with a sign during College Gameday.

Jon Scheyer may be the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball coach these days, but for now he lives in the shadow of Mike Krzyzewski, who led the program for over four decades.

While Coach K insisted that his final season was “about the kids” in his program, Krzyzewski’s retirement tour resembled that of a self-absorbed famous athlete. Sadly for Duke fans, the season didn’t end as planned.

Krzyzewski’s final home game was a loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels, as well as his final NCAA Tournament game. UNC received all-time bragging rights.

Prior to Saturday’s first meeting of the season between the bitter rivals, one North Carolina fan reference Coach K’s farewell tour, and the scores of the two games Duke wishes they could get back.

Sign of the year? Sign of the year.

Tobacco Road: Duke and UNC enter a new stage of their rivalry

What was once Dean Smith vs Mike Krzyzewski, or Roy Williams vs Mike Krzyzewski, is now Scheyer vs. Hubert Davis. Both coaches are former players at their respective universities, and part of a younger generation hoping to carry on the traditions of the past, all while adjusting to a new age of college basketball.

Both teams are having a relatively down season by their standards. While they should make the tournament, Duke sits at 16-6 overall and 7-4 in the conference — good for sixth place in the ACC.

North Carolina lost their last outing to Pittsburgh at the Dean Dome. UNC has the same conference record at 7-4, and sports a 15-7 overall mark. A win over Duke would go a long way in boosting their tournament resume.
