According to Korea JoongAng Daily, the film ranked No. 2 on its Top 10 on Netflix in the World list within two days of the its release and remained there until Monday night, as per content tracker FlixPatrol.
Whereas American romantic comedy Your Place or Mine, starring Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher and Jesse Williams, topped FlixPatrol’s global film ranking. Speaking of countries, Unlocked topped the charts in Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Unlocked follows a cyber-criminal Jun Yeong (Im Si Wan) who picks up Na Mi’s (Chun Woo Hee) phone, and approaches her using the device to commit the most eerie of crimes. “A woman’s life is turned upside-down after a dangerous man gets a hold of her lost cell phone and uses it to track her every move,” reads an official description.
Kim Hee Won also stars in the film as Ji Man “who finds clues leading toward his son Jun Yeong when he goes to investigate a murder that left behind a dead body on a hill.”
Netflix’s Unlocked released on February 17.
