A popular wafer biscuit, sold nationwide, has been urgently recalled.
Authorities have rushed to strip shelves of Crispbic Wafer Bics Gluten Free across the country after it was discovered the wafers contain both gluten and wheat.
IGA supermarkets and independent food retailers in New South Wales, ACT, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia are all home to the cheese board favourite.
The recalled biscuits have best before markings of: Best Before 28 March 2023 W1
Incorrect packaging is the source of the recall, according to Food Standards Australia, which has resulted in the presence of the undeclared allergens.
The product packaging is for the Crispbic Wafer Bics Original Gluten Free 100g, however the product inside is for Crispbic Wafer Bics Original 100g.
“Any consumers who have a wheat or gluten allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” Food Standards Australia said.
Consumers who have a wheat or gluten allergy or intolerance have been warned not to consume this product, with authorities advising customers to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
