USA-based Zimbabwe international defender Teenage Hadebe is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines at Major League Soccer (MLS) side Houston Dynamo after undergoing surgery on his right leg Sunday.
The 27-year-old star was placed on the club’s injury list on Sunday after undergoing the surgery which is expected to rule him out of action for up to 10 weeks.
Hadebe was not included in Houston Dynamo’s match-day squad for the goalless draw against Real Salt Lake at the weekend due to the injury.
The former Kaizer Chiefs defender last featured for his club during their third round US Open Cup match against Tampa Bay Rowdies which they won 1-0 on April 27.
In an update to his fans on his social media after the operation, Hadebe said: “Road to Recovery. Big thanks to Dr Greaser and his team on successful surgery. (I am) thankful for all the support from my family, friends and teammates. Houston Dynamo, can’t wait to be back.”
Hadebe has established himself as an integral member of the Houston Dynamo squad since his move from Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor two years ago.
This season the highly rated defender has played eight league games for his side, who are currently sixth in the MLS Western Conference standings with 14 points from nine games.
