Following confirmation from the ICC’s Event Panel, United States fast bowler Kyle Phillip has been immediately suspended from bowling in international cricket due to an illegal bowling action.
According to a statement issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the 26-year-old was reported by match officials after his team’s World Cup qualifying match against West Indies on June 18.
After reviewing footage of Phillip’s bowling action, the Event Panel determined that he employed an illegal bowling action, leading to his suspension from international cricket in accordance with Article 6.7 of the regulations, as stated in ICC’s statement.
Phillip’s suspension will remain in effect until he undergoes a reassessment of his bowling action, which must conclude that his technique complies with the legal standards.
