If you want a late night sweat on Wednesday, look no further than the Mountain West showdown between Utah State and UNLV.
Utah Sate sits one game behind Nevada for third place in the conference, so a win tonight could help their standing in the upcoming conference tournament. The Aggies enter tonight on a three-game win streak, but are just 5-4 on the road this season.
Let’s take a peak at the odds for tonight and then I’ll give you my best bet.
Utah State vs. UNLV odds, spread, and total
Utah State vs. UNLV prediction and pick
Utah State doesn’t get the credit it deserves as being one of the best shooting teams in the country. Heading into tonight, the Aggies rank 13th in college basketball in effective field goal percentage.
That’s miles above UNLV who comes in at 228th.
Admittedly, UNLV does have the better overall defense, ranking 82nd in defensive efficiency, but the Aggies have the ability to attack them on the perimeter. Utah State ranks 60th in three point shot rate and now they face a Runnin’ Rebels team that’s 280th in opponent three-point field goal percentage, allowing teams to shoot 35.7% from beyond the arc.
Utah State is also going to have a massive advantage in the rebounding department. The Aggies rank 39th in rebounding percentage, while UNLV ranks 312th.
I’ll lay the short number with Utah State on Wednesday night.
