The song appears on the BTS member’s recently released solo album Layover

V slowed things down for the debut live performance of his recent single “Love Me Again,” an R&B and jazz-influenced record that appears on his full-length solo album Layover. Accompanied by four backing vocalists, the BTS member performed the song on a special episode of Naver’s NPOP show, where he also delivered live renditions of “Rainy Days” and “Slow Dancing.”

Each performance was set against a unique backdrop, reflecting the song’s tone. For “Love Me Again,” the artist, born Kim Taehyung, stood among framed photographs in an orange-hued art gallery setting. Moving between Korean and English, he sings about a fleeting relationship, pleading: “If ever you regret this, won’t you let me know?”

“Jazz and classical are my favorite genres, so I think I always had the desire to try making it myself. It was the music that I grew up listening to,” V recently told Rolling Stone about the sonic influences across Layover that appear on songs like “Love Me Again,” adding: “Whenever I had free time, or when there was a break between my work, I tended to go back to those styles. I felt a sense of comfort while listening to them, so I really wanted to try to make music that also brings that feeling of consolation to the audience.”

He also hoped to channel a sense of nostalgia through the music, explaining: “I think you can think of it as connected to BTS’ The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series, which showcased the theme of youth. You know, when you look back into your past and feel sentimental about those old memories. That strange feeling that comes with reflecting back on your old self, and thinking, “I wish I could go back to those good old days…” I think that overall sentiment is also reflected in this album. Particularly the song “Love Me Again” is about reminiscing and wanting to return to the past.”
