Varun Dhawan starts work on Raj and DK’s Citadel India- See pic | Bollywood Bubble

After months of speculations and reportage on Varun Dhawan being a part of the Indian instalment of Russo Brothers‘ Citadel universe, the actor finally made the announcement official last month. He dropped a post in collaboration with Russo Brothers, who welcomed him to the team and also shared his first look from the series. The post also said that Varun Dhawan will start working Citadel India in January 2023, and now that we have entered the New Year, the actor is also on schedule as he started work on the show on Sunday.

Varun took to his Insta stories to share a picture from his day in which he is seen in a rehearsal hall with mirrors all around as he is standing face to face with his director Raj Nidimoru of the director duo Raj and DK, who are helming Citadel India. The actor seems completely focused and in the zone in a white t-shirt and black trackpants with what seems like a weapon in his hand. Varun appears to be prepping for some action sequence in the picture and it has just increased the curiosity around the show.

Citadel is a spy universe that Russo Brothers have created. The filmmaker duo is known for directing the Captain America films in the Marvel cinematic universe, and the American instalment of the Citadel universe features Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in the lead. The Indian version will reportedly have Varun starring opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Recently some reports did rounds that the actress was no longer a part of the show, but contrary to them, she is expected to start work on the series this month as well. As for Varun, apart from Citadel India which will mark his OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video, he also has Bawaal with Janhvi Kapoor in the pipeline.
