Veteran actor Arun Bali passed away at the age of 79 in Mumbai. The actor who impressed all with his acting skills was last seen in the Amitabh Bachchan- Rashmika Mandanna -starrer Goodbye, which was released on Friday.
Arun Bali was suffering from a rare neuromuscular disease myasthenia gravis. He was also admitted to the Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai earlier this year.
Bali’s son Ankush said his father was suffering from Myasthenia gravis. He added that his father was responding well to the treatment but passed away at around 4.30 am. “My father left us. He was suffering from Myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two-three days. My father told the caretaker he wanted to go to the washroom and after coming out told him he wanted to sit down and never got up then.” Bali’s son told PTI.
Arun Bali was born on December 23, 1942, in Lahore, Pakistan. He has been seen in Hindi, Telugu, and Punjabi films as well as several TV shows. including the 1991 period drama Chanakya where he played King Porus. Bali is also known for playing Harshvardhan Wadhwa in Kumkum. The late actor has also worked in ‘Swabhimaan’, ‘Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand’, ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’, and’P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke’.
Some of his popular films are ‘Saugandh’, ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Satya’, ‘Hey Ram’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Ready’, ‘Barfi’,’Manmarziyaan’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Bali is survived by a son and three daughters.
