It’s difficult to find flaws in Victor Wembanyama’s game. The projected top overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft is able to score, dribble and defend at a high level.
He brings a combination of size and skill that the NBA has never seen, a player some are predicting to change the game of basketball as we know it.
The one real knock on Wembanyama has been his physique.
He stands at an imposing 7’4″, but he’s extremely thin – something that some analysts believe players like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic will be able to exploit at the next level.
If you ask Wembanyama, he says it’s no issue.

Victor Wembanyama addresses concerns about handling the grueling NBA schedule:
"They can think that because they don't know my work ethic."

Wembanyama says that anyone concerned about his frame doesn’t understand his work ethic. He also says that he doesn’t need to bulk up.
“Why? What for,” said the French phenom. “You should tell others to skinny up.”
It’s an interesting perspective on the issue, especially considering that the No. 2 overall pick last year was in a similar situation.
The Thunder selected Chet Holmgren at No. 2, and he missed the entire season after suffering a foot injury in a Pro-Am game over the summer.
The San Antonio Spurs probably won’t let Wembanyama play in any summer Pro-Am games, but injuries are always a concern.
Hopefully, Wembanyama can stay healthy and live up to the hype.
