TMZ dropped a bombshell report Thursday involving Britney Spears and Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama.

Spears was allegedly assaulted Wednesday night by a member of Wembanyama’s security team. It apparently occurred after she “tapped” the No. 1 overall pick on the shoulder.

From TMZ:

Britney and co. walked over to Catch, and as they were entering the restaurant, Britney spotted Victor. We’re told she’s a fan and went over to him to ask if they could take a photo together. She tapped him on his back, right shoulder and, we’re told the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs — the team that drafted Victor last month — instantly backhanded her, causing her to fall to the ground … knocking her glasses off.

Speaking to the media Thursday afternoon, Wembanyama offered his thoughts on this situation.

“One person was calling me, but we talked before with the security. They said don’t stop because it’ll make a crowd. So, I couldn’t stop. That person grabbed me from behind. I didn’t see what happen because I was walking straight, but that person grabbed me from behind. I just know the security pushed her away,” Wembanyama said. “I don’t know with how much force though, but security pushed her away. I didn’t stop to look so I can enjoy the nice dinner.”

Law enforcement said Damian Smith, the Director of Team Security for the Spurs, is the person who allegedly slapped Spears.

According to TMZ, the police have launched a criminal investigation into this matter. Criminal charges have not been filed at this time.
