Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, has received an offer from a minor league baseball team. However, it’s not what you’re thinking.
The San Antonio Missions (the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres) are offering Wembanyama a chance to redeem himself on the mound.
Earlier this week, Wembanyama threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the New York Yankees. The result wasn’t pretty.
Wembanyama’s first pitch for the Yankees sailed way left of the intended target.
The Missions told TMZ that Wembanyama has an “open invitation” to throw out the first pitch at one of their upcoming hoe games.

Additionally, the Missions said, “The entire city of San Antonio, as you can imagine, is incredibly excited about Victor being a Spur.”
Wembanyama’s focus at the moment is probably on the NBA’s Summer League. Once that wraps up, he may want to consider the Missions’ offer.
