The life of Victor Wembanyama is about to change on Thursday.
The San Antonio Spurs are expected to select the 19-year-old once-in-a-generation prospect with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 Draft.
Wembanyama could be the most hyped prospect since LeBron James, which says quite a lot.
As the moment gets closer, Wembanyama talked about his favorite player growing up, and future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook is one of them.
“I remember at some point, I was a big fan of Westbrook, you know, OKC,” Wembanyama said when asked about his favorite NBA player growing up. “I have plenty though, I didn’t have like one big idol.”

When playing for Oklahoma City Thunder, Westbrook became a superstar and fan favorite across the league.
During his 11 seasons in Oklahoma City, Westbrook averaged 24.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists on 43.4 percent shooting from the field and 30.8 percent from long distance.
