Talk about a close call.
The 2023 NBA Draft had no shortage of suspenseful events and a hot mic moment with No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama’s sister, Eve, who nearly suffered a wardrobe malfunction during an interview with ESPN.
Eve, who looked stunning in a low-cut blazer while sitting between her brothers, including 16-year-old Oscar Wembanyama, looked down and placed her hands in front of chest.
That’s when the microphone she was holding picked up Eve, 21, asking Oscar in French if her breasts were exposed, according to TMZ.
Eve looked over at Oscar and said, “Es qu’on voit mes seins?”
In English, it translates to: “Can they see my breasts?”
Oscar, who was seen laughing, leaned over and pulled the collar of Eve’s blazer closer together.
The siblings went on with the interview, and luckily, Eve escaped a wardrobe malfunction on national television.
However, she didn’t escape online attention while at the draft.
Eve, who is also a basketball player in France, had NBA Twitter buzzing on Thursday night.
The 6-foot-1 athlete turned heads at Barclays Center in a classy black ensemble and stole the hearts of NBA fans when she sang her brother’s praises on the mic.
Eve also gained thousands of Instagram followers, going from 13,000 followers to upwards of 22,000 overnight.
The 19-year-old, Wembanyama and his siblings were overcome with emotion while sitting down with ESPN’s Monica McNutt.
“It’s amazing,” Eve said when asked about seeing her brother get drafted first overall by the Spurs.
“We’re all so proud. We’re very happy for family, friends, for everything and basketball.””
