What’s on your summer wardrobe wishlist? Maybe a Totême one-piece? Or an easy Tove dress in a mood-lifting shade of lilac? Victoria Beckham is taking a rather more unexpected approach to her holiday packing this year—at least if her most recent tongue-in-cheek Instagram post is anything to go by.
The Spice Girl-turned-designer’s latest snaps—which find her hanging out by an otherwise deserted swimming pool in a full runway look from her spring 2023 collection—suggest she’s advocating for sky-high stiletto boots over sandals, and sweeping trains over short hemlines this summer.

Always her own best brand ambassador, VB’s impromptu poolside shoot may be just the latest example of her uniquely effective ability to promote her empire, but don’t rule out the possibility of actually seeing her sauntering around Saint-Tropez in heels when July rolls around. She packed some killer accessories for the Beckham family jaunt around the Med last year on board yacht The Madsummer. Think: Bottega Veneta’s Chain Pouch, with its chunky gold handle liable to remove a layer of skin if left to bake too long in the sun. A brocante basket bag it wasn’t.
Long a feature of Beckham’s collections, the peep-toe emerged as a key shoe trend this season, with Miu Miu and Dries Van Noten among the other brands showing footwear with a fetishistic slant. Also bang on trend? That unmissable shade of red. Saturated shades were all over the spring 2023 runways, and red in particular has captured the hearts of style stars including Rihanna, Taylor Russell and Tessa Thompson in recent weeks.
Peep-toe boots as resort wear: not nearly as practical as pool slides, but guaranteed to turn heads at the breakfast buffet.
