To commemorate the day when  Babasaheb Ambedkar first went to school, November 7 is being observed as ‘Vidyarthi Divas’ or ‘Students’ Day’ across the country. On this day in 1990,  BR Ambedkar first entered the school life and went to high school in Maharashtra. To highlight the importance and significance of this day in India, the day was decided to be celebrated as ‘Vidyarthi Divas’ in 2017.
